The PAC was formed by the Granada Community Services District Board in 2015 to ensure community involvement in all phases of park and recreation facilities and programs planning, design, and development. Seven voting members are appointed by the Board to serve two-year terms. Members receive no compensation – they are neighbors volunteering to support and benefit our community. The PAC makes recommendations regarding parks and recreation to the GCSD Board of Directors.
The PAC has been very engaged over the past few years in soliciting and summarizing community feedback regarding the future park and community center, exploring possible designs and locations for pocket parks, disc golf, a bicycle pump track and recreation events, including movies in Quarry Park. A PAC subteam was very active in contributing ideas for the new bicycle pump track that opened in Summer 2022 in Quarry Park, with support from GCSD, San Mateo County Parks, Coastside Mountain Bikers and the San Mateo County Parks Foundation.
