Granada Community Park Update |October 23, 2023
The Granada Community Services District has been working hard to make Granada Community Park and Recreation Center a reality. During the past year, multiple consultants have been turning community driven conceptual plans into the more detailed plans that will be submitted to San Mateo County for permitting. As part of that process, Kikuchi+Kankel Design Group has developed renderings of how the park will look and feel when completed (designs shown below).
Soon the package of detailed park and recreation center plans and the environmental review will be ready to go to the County. The County review process will then include additional opportunities for public comment on the design. Nancy Marsh, GCSD Board President, says “we are excited to be approaching this major milestone for Granada Community Park and Recreation Center and to be able to share these beautiful renderings of the park design with the residents of the District and our Coastside neighbors.”
Parks and recreation funding is an allocation of general property taxes and does NOT depend on revenue from GCSD sewer fees. To fully realize the exciting potential of the park and recreation center designs, GCSD has engaged Townsend Public Affairs to help with grant applications and development of additional funding from private, county, state, and federal sources.
